Sheetal Devi Archer biography
Sheetal Devi is an Indian para-archer born in the Kishtwar district in Jammu & Kashmir. She is the first and only International Para-archery Champion without hands.
Despite her physical disability, she has strong willpower and has developed expertise in climbing trees using her legs.
In 2019, she participated in a youth event organized by the Army where she was noticed by coaches Abhilasha Chaudhary and Kuldeep Wadhwan who decided to train her.
The coaches sought the option of prosthetics for her, but creating them was not possible for her. Training a person with no arms for archery was difficult for coaches. They did some research and found about Matthew Stutzman, an American archer without arms.
For her unique needs, a special bow was made that she can use with her chest and feet.
