Ravneet hails from a prominent political family; he is the grandson of Beant Singh, the former Chief Minister of Punjab who was assassinated in 1995. His father, Swaranjit Singh, passed away in a car accident when Bittu was only 11 years old. His mother is Jasvir Kaur.

Ravneet Singh Bittu Early Life & Career
Ravneet completed his schooling at Guru Nanak Public School in Chandigarh in but did not pursue higher education beyond the 12th grade. He has also been involved in sports, having been a national-level hockey player.
His political career began under the mentorship of Rahul Gandhi. In 2008, he was appointed as the chief of the Punjab Youth Congress. Year 2009 marked his debut in general elections, where he won a seat in the Lok Sabha from Anandpur Sahib. He subsequently represented Ludhiana in the Lok Sabha after winning elections in 2014 and 2019. In March 2024, Bittu switched allegiance to the BJP ahead of the general elections but lost his bid for re-election from Ludhiana. Despite this setback, he was appointed as Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries in the Modi cabinet shortly thereafter.
