Atishi Marlena Career
Atishi joined AAP in January 2013, shortly after its formation, and quickly became involved in policy-making, particularly in education. She played a crucial role in drafting the party’s manifesto and was active during the Anti-Corruption Movement, which laid the groundwork for AAP’s emergence in Indian politics.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Atishi was appointed as the party’s in-charge for the East Delhi constituency. However, she faced a setback when she lost to BJP candidate Gautam Gambhir. In 2020, she rebounded by winning a seat in the Delhi Legislative Assembly from the Kalkaji constituency.
Following her victory, Atishi was appointed as a Cabinet Minister in the Delhi government handling multiple departments including Education, Finance, and Women and Child Welfare.
