Lakshya Sen, the star shuttler has badminton in his genes. He was born on 16 August 2001 to a Bengali family in Uttarakhand. His grandfather, C.L. Sen was a national level badminton player. His father, D.K. Sen, who had played international badminton for India is a coach now.
At a young age, he started visiting badminton stadiums with his father. In 2010, his persuasion of his father led him to play at the Union Bank All-India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament.
After a recommendation by a coach, legendary badminton player, Prakash Padukone took him to his academy to polish his talent.
He has won two prominent tournaments in consecutive years:

—Canada Open in 2023 (Men’s singles)
Lakshya has been conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2022 by the Government of India.
