Jadeja completed his schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi, where he met his future wife, Aditi Jaitly. He completed his graduation from Hindu College in Delhi.
28 February, 1992 marks his international debut in One Day Internationals (ODIs), where he played against Sri Lanka. Later that year, he played his first Test match against South Africa. Over his career, which spanned until 2000, he participated in 15 Test matches and 196 ODIs. Notably, he was part of the squad that won the 1995 Asia Cup. In the 1996 World Cup Quarter Final, he played one of his memorable innings of 45 runs off just 25 balls against Pakistan. As good batsman he was, so as his fielding abilities.
After retiring from professional cricket, Jadeja ventured into acting and media. He appeared in Bollywood films such as Khel (2003) and Pal Pal Dil Ke Ssaat (2009). He later participated as a contestant on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
He also works as a cricket commentator and analyst for various news channels. In recent years, Jadeja has taken on mentorship roles, including serving as a mentor for the Afghanistan cricket team during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
