Sohum Shah was born on June 15, 1983, in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, into a modest family. His father worked as a commodity broker, and during his teenage years, Sohum assisted him in his work.

Because he was fascinated with films, particularly those featuring Shah Rukh Khan, he desired to pursue acting. He worked in the family business for about eight years till 2008 and established himself financially before entering the film industry.

The early exposure to the business world helped shape his understanding of responsibility and hard work.
