Hassan Nasrallah Family
Hassan was born into a Shia family as the ninth of ten children. Abdul Karim Nasrallah, his father was a grocer from the village of Bazourieh near Tyre.
Nasrallah married Fatimah Yasin, and together, they have four children: Muhammad Javed, Zainab, Muhammad Ali, and Muhammad Mahdi. His eldest son, Muhammad Hadi, was killed in an Israeli ambush in 1997 at the age of 18.

The outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War in 1975 forced his family to flee to their ancestral village of Bazouriyeh, where Nasrallah became involved with local political movements. At the age of 15, he was appointed as the village representative for the Amal Party, a Shiite political group that aimed to address the marginalization of Shiites in Lebanon.
To complete his religious studies, Nasrallah traveled to Najaf, Iraq, to study at a Shiite seminary. There, he met his future colleague Abbas al-Mousaoui.
